Pre-war Ace Model .22, serial number 5241 - One of less than 800 Aces purchased by the U.S. Government. One of 200 sold to the United States Government and shipped to the U.S. Coast Guard Depot, Curtis Bay, Maryland c/o Joseph A. Lorch, Washington, DC on June 20, 1934. It was processed on Colt Factory Order number #13580/200. While the frame is number 5241, the slide is numbered 5231. The pistol is listed in the SRS as being at the Bureau of Printing and Engraving range in 1940.

The Service Model Ace frames and frame small parts are identical to the Series 70.45ACP Government Model. The only difference is the serial#. Slide parts specific for the SMA pistols/Colt.22 Conversion Unit would be the slide, barrel/floating chamber, extractor, firing pin, firing pin spring?, recoil spring, stamped ejector, #2 slide stop, magazine.

Colt Service Model Ace Serial Number SM2326 - WWII issue, RS inside a Box for Colonel Robert Sears. The slide is numbered to the gun. The pistol belonged to U.S. Navy Captain Arthur Stark of the USS BARBET, a mine sweeper which worked mainly the area surrounding the Panama Canal.

Colt Service Model Ace serial number SM2326 was one of 90 pistols sold to the United States Government and shipped to the Commanding General, Springfield Armory, Springfield Massachusetts on October 22, 1941. It was processed on Colt Factory Order number 9966.
